I say the same thing about Barcelona every single time: of the four days I was in Barcelona that very first time, I was sober for about five minutes. I don’t think I could survive in Barcelona if I were to try and live there, but it’s such a lovely place to visit (mainly because my two brothers from other mothers Victor and Javi are there) and I love it very much.
But I suppose that explains why this entire post is blurry and wonderful.
The only photos I took during the entire trip was when we went to the beach that one time. God, I miss Barcelona. Aileen gave me a film camera that had a waterproof cage for my birthday and actually mailed it to me in Switzerland, which was brilliant. The cage unfortunately didn’t work super well, and water got into the camera pretty often. Somehow photos still managed to develop from all the ocean that got inside, which is either luck or… It’s luck.
This was the first time Gaby met any of my Zurich group I think. Speaking of which, it’s time to do something with everyone I met in Zurich from Sydney.
I’ve started planning my Europe trip. So far all I have is:
11.06: Sydney – Paris (12.06)
12.06: Paris – Annecy
19?20?.06: Annecy – Paris – Brussels (hi Tim)
22?23?.06: Brussels – Amsterdam/Delft (hi Silka)
24?25?.06: Amsterdam – Vienna (hi Dominiks/Martin/Bernhard)
29.06: Vienna – Zurich? Munich?
01.07: Wherever I am – Barcelona (IT’S JAVI’S BIRTHDAY WEEKEND also hi Victor)
04.07: unplanned mysteries that ideally include Greece somewhere, more of Germany, Antwerp again and as much of Scandinavia as I can afford
16?.07: ???? – Brussels (hi again Tim I need my stuff lmao)
17.07: Brussels – Paris
18.07: Paris – Singapore (hi Trish)
19.07: Sydney
I’ve decided to go off photo schedule because I’ve got too many photos to post! This is usually the total opposite of a problem, but I would like to be done with last year’s photos before, during or after I’m back in Europe again this year. I feel like I would only have even more to post afterwards.
I’m currently looking at Brosmind for my illustration class, and they are real lovely and make me wish I had a sibling to do things with. But then I realise how much of a problem I’d have with sharing basically anything, which is really my only single child characteristic.
It’s strange to be a combination of lonely and solitary and mainly extroverted. My ideal situation is to do something in the same room as someone so long as I can bother them whenever I liked.
So basically I am a cat.
My current list of films to watch are:
Andromeda Strain (1971) Robert Wise
Deep Red (1975) Dario Argento
Dark City (1998) Alex Proyas
The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover (1989) Peter Greenaway
House (1977) Nobuhiko Obayashi
Zardoz (1974) John Boorman
Rumble Fish (1983) Francis Ford Coopola
Blue Velvet (1986) David Lynch
Vlad has also a list on his phone of all the films that I haven’t yet seen that he thinks is outrageous, which is a reaction that a lot of people seem to have when it comes to me and films. Which, I suppose, is a pretty good thing because I wouldn’t know where to begin when it comes to watching all of these things by myself.
Friends are pretty great, I’d say.
I forgot it was April Fools for most of yesterday,
Annie.
