In an effort to chase away the shyness preventing us from accidentally looking strangers in the eye while drawing them (or perhaps in a fit of power), our uni course director banned drawing the backs of people's heads when we would do observational drawing.
I took his words as gospel for a long time and avoided drawing the backs of people's heads, until I started working nowhere near animation and craved drawing every morning on the train, looking at the backs of people's heads. Strange, what banning something can do to you.
